The Essay

I'm Christopher, I'm 21 and a working student looking for his place in this world. I am majoring in Political Science at Pierce College in Woodland HIlls with the intent of transferring over to CSUN next year. Afterwards, the plan is to go to law school - I've got Berkely and Georgetown in mind - and eventually practice community law.

I am deeply passionate about American politics and want to someday hold an elected office and better serve my country. I admit that I'm a raging liberal but unlike most politicos, I truly believe in open debate and listening to the other side. I think everyone has a valid point of view to offer and if we were to close our mouths and open our ears more often, we'd be surprised at what was really being said. We focus far too much on differences than on what makes us a common people. I hope to usher in a great and sweeping change one day.

But I can have a really laid back, fun side. I enjoy all kinds of music and television. I love to get out and do anything as long as I'm not alone. Let's go see a movie or go on a hike. If you really want to get at my heartstrings, take me out for a walk in the rain - no umbrella of course - and we can warm up by the fire with a mug of Mexican hot chocolate.

I like to learn and try new things. I can be a little whiny and scared at times but if you've got the way about you, you'll be able to get me to try just about anything. I like to explore and discover.

I do want a relationship with a man who wants to be with me and who want to share their life and interests with me as well as be open to sharing mine. I know that it's crazy to be looking for that right guy so young, but I think he's out there and patience is not a virtue I carry. I'm compassionate and caring. I have a lot to offer and don't want to settle for just anyone.

Be strong, funny, smart and open mided and we'll get along.

The Lovetastic Interview
If you were censor for a day and had to ban only one book, what would it be?

Honestly, I could never ban a book. I believe too much in the importance of knowledge and reading. I was going to try to make an argument for banning the Bible which I think has allowed people to hijack its teachings for bad causes, but even that I couldn't do because of the hope that I think is contained within its pages. No, I never could censor someone.

What is the most irritating invention?

Paris Hilton's career.

Is there any value in suffering?

It helps us learn and grown. I do believe that our worst experiences can teach us something deeper about ourselves and allows us to realize to appreciate the good things we have when we have them. Too cliche?

Can you curse in any foreign languages?

A little in Spanish.

If you were to run for office, would your personal life bear the media scrutiny?

Heh, something I always ask myself. I would try my best to rise above the fray and focus on what matters. But in this day and age, who really knows? I have hope that the American people care more about their future and the betterment of mankind than they do on somone's not-so-sensational but crazy enough past. Plus I believe I'm destined for something greater, so I'm staying optimistic!

If Hamlet invited you on a date, would you accept?

Probably but I'd regret it halfway through. That Dane was nuts!

What fictional character do you have a crush on?

If anyone here watched the WEST WING when it was on, they'll know who Josh Lyman (played by Bradley Withford) is. I had the biggest character-crush on him. He was smart, dynamic and a genius at politics.

What is your favorite time of the year? Why?

I love that time right between fall and winter when it gets darker out and a little colder. There's something serene about this planet when nature begins to wither away but you know we're not far from new life springing up to take its place. Plus it's the lead in to the holidays and my birthday!
