The Essay

I am a reasonably intelligent, interesting, hyper-intellectual, curious, friendly, personable, all around normal sort of person looking for friends and more. I was part time on Long Island for several years but have moved full time back into Manhattan which I'm enjoying very much. The arts have always been central in my life, professionally and otherwise. I love being outdoors -- favorite activities include cycling (touring), hiking, cross country skiing, swimming, bridge, theatre, music, reading, sailing. I'm willing to try almost anything at least once. I would like there to more people in my life who I could just call on the spur of the moment to get together for dinner or a movie. I'd also like to be married to the right guy.

Spirituality has become more and more important in my life in recent years which shows itself in a variety of ways. I sing in the Congregation Beth Simchat Torah (the GLBT synagogue) Community Chorus and I also sing in a gospel choir. I go to spiritual retreats every so often. I also like being out in the middle of nowhere by myself -- or with friends -- on a hike or bike trip in the mountains or on a boat off the coast of Connecticut or in the desert.
